Fermentation on Wheels

Join us for a potluck, culture exchange, and pre-release book party with Fermentation on Wheels (aka Tara Whitsitt). on Sunday, April 30th @ 6pm. Bring some fermented dishes, beverages, and/or starter cultures (kombucha SCOBYs, sourdough starter, kefir grains, yogurt, etc.) to share and swap with other fermenters. Tara of Fermentation on Wheels will also offer a sneak peek of her upcoming book, Fermentation on Wheels: Road Stories, Food Ramblings, and 50 Do-It-Yourself Recipes from Sauerkraut, Kombucha, and Yogurt to Miso, Tempeh, and Mead. Though this engagement will be sans bus, there will be lively discussions and food for all. The bus will be back in 2018!

Fermentation on Wheels is a charitable grassroots project that brings fermentation education to communities of all ages and backgrounds. The project’s founder, Tara Whitsitt, organizes events nationwide to bridge communities and restore a genuine fascination in local, traditionally-preserved foods. By traveling the country, connecting consumers to local farmers, and teaching fermentation, she hopes to emphasize the importance of strong, sustainable food practices and values.
